MOVING FORWARD WITHOUT FEAR

Everyone has a dream or a goal of some sort. Yours could be a personal goal or a business oriented one. Either way, you have to take certain steps to get there. How do you know when you are taking the right steps?  Any step to get you closer to a goal is the right one, no matter how big or small!

We were sitting in the Brightside office reflecting on how we got where we are today. It began with a grain of rice idea during a lunch break at a job we felt stagnant at. It continued into coronas poolside where we decided to literally jump into the deep end and take a risk by committing to start our own business. That afternoon by the pool, we grabbed a pen and paper and began writing out the Brightside goals and dreams. These were all small steps that helped us make the eventual leap.

Ask yourself what motivates you? So many people will ask the dreaded question, ‘what is your passion?’ Instead, we ask what motivates you? This question is more relatable and is easier to answer.

Ask yourself what motivates you? So many people will ask the dreaded question, ‘what is your passion?’ Instead, we ask what motivates you? This question is more relatable and is easier to answer. Is money your main motivator? Is it the freedom to make your own schedule? Maybe for you it’s just the ability to be as creative as you need to be with no limitations. Focus on the answer to this question for you. Whatever your answer is, use it to get to your goal! Let it drive you!

One important thing to note, is that no matter what it is that motivates you, in order to get to your goal it will take hard work! By focusing on your key motivator, this hard work will feel less like labor and more like liberation.

When you are in the job you feel stagnant in, think of the lessons that the job is currently teaching you and focus on that. Use every opportunity during this season of life to look on as a learning experience. It’s only temporary!

We, as the Brightside Creative Solutions owners, started off as coworkers and quickly became friends who shared the same vision for the future. Our key motivator was the desire to do what we love while having the freedom to make our own schedule so we could spend the time we wanted with our families. Our end goal was to start our own business and do it full time. We knew we would have to put in extra hours, but those extra hours powered us through our day jobs with more motivation than we originally had.

When you are in the job you feel stagnant in, think of the lessons that the job is currently teaching you and focus on that. Use every opportunity during this season of life to look on as a learning experience. It’s only temporary! This will help guide you further into whatever that end goal for you may be.

Instead of being paralyzed in fear of making a mistake – just take a step forward. Any step in the direction of your goal is the right step. You will quickly realize it becomes a snowball effect and you will be powering your way towards your end goal! Recognize mistakes and learn from them as they only get you further in perfecting your craft. We look back all the time on the makings of what got us to where we are today and where we are going. Thinking on these moments help us appreciate the small steps it took to head in the right direction and motivates us to keep moving forward! Brightside was once a dream for us, and now it’s a happy reality!
